In this course, students will learn about various psychosocial factors that contribute to individuals' health behavior and physical diseases. Specifically, psychological theories and methodology will be utilized to explain and predict physical outcomes such as eating behavior, alcohol addition, and cardiovascular diseases. A focus will be on overcoming a traditional dualism dividing mind and body, and promoting an integrative understanding of human health behavior and physcial health. Students may also acquire practical knowledge to promote their own health. The course is designed for advanced students in psychology who have taken at least the course [Introduction to Psychology].
PSY3028 Experimental Social Psychology 3 6 Major Bachelor 3-4 Korean Yes
This course aims to enhance students' understanding of experimental research in social psychology. To accomplish this goal, students will read major research articles in social psychology and conduct critical analysis. Students will be able to understand the entire process of hypothesis-testing in experimental research. Students will also discuss implications, limitations, and future directions for the given research. The course is designed for upper-level psychology students who have taken at least [Moderan Social Psychology] and [Research Methods in Psychology] courses.

This course aims to promote understanding of human personality and personality problems based on major theories of personality. Since personality has impact on many areas of functioning especially interpersonal functioning, understanding personality would also contribute to better understanding of self and others which can facilitate successful social relationships. Analysis of theories of personality, with a survey of major contemporary approaches to the study of personality. Major theories of personality are covered in addition to consideration of assessment techniques and research methods. The course is designed for students who have taken at least the course [Introduction to Psychology].

Abnormal psychology is the scientific study of abnormal behavior or psychopathology. A key goal in this course is to help students appreciate the complexity of the field and develop a critical understanding of abnormal behavior based on diverse perspectives. We will accomplish this by discussing symptomatology, etiology, and treatment for each category of psychopathology from several theoretical frameworks and contexts. The course will consist of lectures and student's individual projects. The course is designed for advanced students in psychology who have taken at least the course [Introduction to Psychology].

This course covers counseling for academic and occupational goals. In the first part, different disciplines and programs in academics are covered. In the second part, occupational areas and qualifications are covered. Counselors in academic goals help students plan and apply for advanced studies. Occupational counselors help employees choose a rewarding and satisfying career path, resolve conflicts between work and nonwork interests, adjust to changing career interests, and prepare for retirement. The topics covered include theories of career development, occupational information, computer applications, research issues, and counseling techniques. The course is designed for advanced students in psychology who have taken at least the course [Introduction to Psychology].

Counseling Theories and Practice covers major theories and techniques in counseling psychology. Specifically, students will learn about theoretical foundations as well as counseling techniques of major theoretical orientations including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic approaches. As a result, students will acquire not only academic knowledge of this field, but also pracitical skills that may be useful in practice. The course is designed for advanced students in psychology who have taken at least the course [Introduction to Psychology].

PSY3038 Development and Practice of Psychological Tests 3 6 Major Bachelor 3-4 - No
This course covers development of psychological tests or scales, intended to measure psychological constructs such as personality, attitude, and intelligence. Students are expected to review basic concepts and procedural knowledge on the development of psychological tests and then to have detailed understanding on it by reading research articles. In addition, they will practice to develop psychological scales of their own interest. This course is designed for 3rd- or 4th-year undergraduate students. [Individual Differences and Psychological Measurement] is a prerequisite of this course.

This course aims to promote students' understanding of basic concepts and theories in social psychology of culture. To achieve this goal, emphasis will be given on the application of the knowledge accumulated in social and cultural psychology to various real-world issues. Students will discover the personal relevance of course material and be able to develop skills necessary to evaluate and think critically about the link between culture and human mind and social behavior.

This course focuses on learning about the brain and mind at an intermediate level. By understanding basic neuroanatomy, neurons, and methods in cognitive neuroscience, students will learn the neural mechanisms of basic human information processing, such as perception, attention, memory, and cognitive control. [Cognitive Psychology] is also encouraged to take before signing up.

This course focuses on learning about the neural bases of high-level psychological processes and behavior at an intermediate level. Students will learn the neural mechanisms of high-level cognitive functions, such as language, action, emotion, social cognition, and consciousness. This course is designed for 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students who have completed [Cognitive Psychology] and [Brain and Mind] before signing up, and 1st-2nd semester graduate students.
PSY3042 Job Analysis: Understanding and Application 3 6 Major Bachelor 3-4 - No
This course covers job analysis, the foundation of industrial/personnel psychology in an intermediate level. Students will learn job analysis techniques includinig work-oriented and worker-oriented methods and conduct job analysis as a group project. Students will also apply the results of job analysis to human resources management techniques such as job description and performance appraisal.

This course is an introduction to psycholinguistics and interrelationships between language and thought in a medium level. The language module covers language development, acquisition, speech perception, sentence processing, and the thought module covers categorical thinking, reasoning, inference. Students mainly learn materials from lectures, in-class activities and homework. This course is designed for 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students who completed at least one of [Cognitive Psychology], or [Experimental Psychology] before signing up, and 1st and 2nd semester graduate students.

This course focuses on learning about the psychological and neurobiological bases of decision-making at an advanced level. Students will learn the psychological mechanisms that underpin perceptual decision-making, economic decision-making, as well as moral decision-making, and the factors that influences such processes. Psychological Assessment is a process of evaluating a patient's psychological processes based on various assessment methods including clinical interview and psychological testing. The goal of this course is to learn about basic principles of psychological assessment, interview techniques, and psychological testing, and to understand the current diagnostic and classification system of mental disorders and related issues. This course is an advanced course in [Clinical Psychology] and is designed for students who have already taken [Abnormal Psychology] and [Clinical Psychology].
